Buckingham Palace shows King Charles III and Queen Camilla’s Christmas card: the couple chose a sincere spring photo
Buckingham Palace has revealed the first Christmas card of the British royal family in 2024. It was created especially for Monarch Charles III and Queen Camilla. The main detail of the card is a photo of the couple, but it was taken back in April of this year.
In fact, the photo was a reminder of the anniversary of Charles III’s coronation in May. The photo of the postcard was published by Hello! magazine.
On that sunny day, the monarch wore a gray suit with a blue polka-dot tie, and the queen matched her husband’s indigo dress and gold earrings. The couple, who were tenderly embracing, were then photographed in the gardens of Buckingham Palace.
“Wishing you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!” – this greeting was printed on the other side of the card.
The picture was taken by Millie Pilkington, one of the most respected portrait photographers in England. People magazine noted that the couple used to choose her photographs to commemorate special events.
This year’s version of the card featured a more casual photo than last year’s. In 2023, the picture was taken in the Throne Room of Buckingham Palace after the coronation of Charles III.
Sending holiday cards has become a tradition in the British royal family. Their fans look forward to new photos and wishes from the monarch and his wife every year. However, most of all, they are waiting for a copy of the card from the Welsh family – Prince William and Kate Middleton, as well as their children: George, Charlotte and Louis.
