10 stars who became friends long before they became famous: you’ll be surprised. Photo
Adults often like to be hypocrites. It’s convenient: it helps you make profitable contacts, and no one can guess what’s really on your mind. It also has a downside: it makes it harder to find sincere and reliable friends.
Any of them can also pretend to be sincere, but secretly have selfish intentions. That’s why celebrities value friendship with those they’ve known since school (or even since they were in diapers). It’s simple – they have stood the test of time: they rejoice in their successes and support them when something goes wrong.
So, which stars became friends before the whole world knew about them?
1. Adam Levine and Jonah Hill
American singer, leader of the band Maroon 5, Adam Levine and American actor Jonah Hill were friends long before they became famous. They spent their entire childhood in Los Angeles: fooling around together, playing basketball, watching movies, traveling, and living at each other’s houses… When they grew up, they continued to keep in touch. In an interview with the American radio show The Howard Stern Show, Hill said that he calls Levin his older brother, and added: “Adam is part of my family. I don’t see him as a rock star. He is a wonderful person to me.” And in 2014, the actor was honored to host his friend’s wedding when he married Namibian model Biati Prinsloo.
2. Jessie J and Adele
The British R&B singer Jessie J and the British pop singer Adele studied together at Mayfield School. “We used to sing during breaks. Obviously, we didn’t realize at the time that it would become a lifelong pursuit… She (Adele – Ed.) always radiated positive energy as a child,” Jay shared her memories during a conversation with People in 2020.
Nowadays, celebrities rarely find time to meet. It’s all because of the constant touring, numerous interviews, and music videos. “I would love to collaborate with Adele. I think we would not make a classic pop song, but something deeper ,” added the Price Tag hitmaker.
3. John Krasinski and BJ Novak
The American actor John Krasinski and his colleague Benjamin Joseph Manali Novak (BJ Novak) became world famous for the comedy series The Office. But the two met at school. As a child, Novak knew that he wanted to conquer cinema. So, he enjoyed acting in school plays. “Krasinski wasn’t happy about it (performances – Ed.). He was an athlete, the captain of the basketball team. He joined the theater a little later… It’s an incredibly strange feeling to be on a show with someone you went to school with,” Novak said on The Ellen DeGeneres Show.
4. Matt Damon and Ben Affleck
American actors and screenwriters Matt Damon and Ben Affleck met at a baseball game when the former was 10 years old and the latter was 8. Later, they started studying at the same school, and both became interested in acting. “As kids, Ben and I were in love with acting and movies. I think we were even obsessed with the idea of conquering cinema… It shaped our common goals and bonded us for life,” Damon said in an interview with Entertainment Tonight.
As adults, the star friends starred in a number of films together: “Good Will Hunting” (1997), “School Ties” (1992), “Glory Daze” (1995), “Chasing Amy” (1997), “Jersey Girl” (2004), “Dogma” (1999), “The Last Duel” (2021) and “Air” (2023).
5. Kate Hudson and Liv Tyler
American actresses Kate Hudson and Liv Tyler met in the 1990s at the Crossroads School of Arts and Sciences (Santa Monica, USA). Since then, they have become best friends. It is known that they both agreed to become pregnant around the same time and gave birth to their first children in 2004. In addition, they often travel together and go to social events… Since Hudson and Tyler were able to reach heights in their film careers, they were lucky enough to be cast together in the movie Dr. T and His Women (2000).
