How to water indoor flowers to make them bloom better: a home remedy

Houseplants need the right nutrients in the soil to grow properly, but you don’t have to spend money at all, as you can make a fertilizer from scraps in your kitchen.

According to experts, you can fertilize flowers by preparing an infusion of eggshells and banana peels, OBOZ.UA writes.

Bananas contain nutrients that indoor plants love. When you soak the banana peel, it decomposes and releases potassium and small amounts of nitrogen, phosphorus, and magnesium into the water.

Meanwhile, eggshells are a rich source of calcium in the form of calcium carbonate. It also contains other nutrients important to plants, such as phosphorus and magnesium, as well as traces of sodium, potassium, zinc, manganese, iron, and copper.

How to make homemade fertilizer for indoor plants

All you have to do is cut up a banana peel and crush an eggshell into much smaller pieces.

Be sure to wash the eggshells before crushing them, as egg residue can attract pests.

Then place the banana peel and eggshell pieces in a jar or container with a lid.

Dip the fertilizer parts in water and then put it away for a while out of sight so that the water absorbs all the nutrients. It’s best to wait at least one day, but don’t leave the solution for longer than three days or it will rot too much and you’ll have to clean it up more.

When the time is up, add one part fertilizer and one part clean water to the watering can. Get rid of any leftover banana peels or eggshells.

Water your houseplants as usual. This should give them an organic boost and help them grow healthier and more abundant flowers.
