Tastier than Olivier: a hearty holiday salad “Soviet” made from the most budgetary products
In Soviet times, for the New Year, everyone prepared very simple, hearty salads made from vegetables, fish, sausage, chicken, and cheese.
The FoodOboz editorial team shares a simple recipe for Soviet salad, made with pork, peas and sour cucumbers.
Ingredients:
- Boiled pork – 350 g
- Egg – 6 pcs.
- Peas – 1 can.
- Sour cucumber – 3 pcs.
- Carrots – 2 pcs.
- Onions – 3 pcs.
- Salt – to taste
- Mayonnaise – to taste
Method of preparation:
1. Cook the pork, cut into cubes. Cut the cucumbers and eggs into strips or cubes.
2. Fry the carrots and onions.
3. Put all the ingredients in a bowl, add mayonnaise, peas, salt, pepper, roasted peppers and mix well.
