The Apprentice: where to watch the documentary about the rise of re-elected US president Donald Trump
The Apprentice has become one of the most controversial films this season. Nevertheless, Sebastian Stan and Jeremy Strong were still nominated for Golden Globes: the former for Best Actor and the latter for Best Supporting Actor.
The movie, directed by Ali Abbasi and written by Gabriel Sherman, really stirred up Hollywood. On the eve of the Donald Trump’s inauguration, OBOZ.US will tell you where to watch the story about about the rise of re-elected US president Donald Trump.
Rumors have it that there were significant problems with financing, creation and distribution of the film. Trump even threatened to sue it over, sending a formal letter to the producers in May 2024 and attempting to block the movie’s US premiere.
“This ‘film’ is pure malicious defamation, should not see the light of day, and doesn’t even deserve a place in the straight-to-DVD section of a bargain bin at a soon-to-be-closed discount movie store, it belongs in a dumpster fire,” Trump campaign spokesman Steven Cheung said at the time.
A representative for the film’s producers responded, “The film is a fair and balanced portrait of the former president. We want everyone to see it and then decide.”
Despite controversy, it gained considerable attention at the Cannes Film Festival and even secured Abbas a Palme d’Or nomination.
“As artists, we have to hold ourselves as sort of the ambassadors of the truth, in a way,” commented actor Sebastian Stan on the movie.
At the center of the plot is Donald Trump, who, as they say, was “born with a golden spoon in his mouth,” and who became the heir to a huge parental capital.
As a young man, he successfully sold expensive properties in the Mangetten area. Hollywood stars, politicians, businessmen and gangsters alike bought real estate on the advise of Trump. The ambitious entrepreneur then set his sights on gaining control of all of New York City.
The Apprentice is a joint project of Canadian, Danish, Irish and American filmmakers. The main scandal erupted when it was revealed that Trump was never involved in the development of the biopic. However, on the eve of the presidential election, the movie did add some extra publicity to his campaign.
The movie is available for streaming or purchase on popular streaming services, namely Amazon Prime, Apple TV and YouTube TV.
