At the age of 77, American actor Mark Withers, who starred in the cult series “Stranger Things” and “Dynasty,” passed away. The celebrity’s heart stopped due to an incurable disease he had been fighting for a long time, pancreatic cancer.

According to the Daily Mail, the star’s death was confirmed by his daughter Jessie. The woman noted that her father passed away on November 22, but she decided to talk about the loss only now.

“He confronted his illness with the same strength and dignity with which he approached his work. He left a legacy of warmth, humor, and dedication, and had an unrivaled ability to make every role memorable. Colleagues, friends, and fans will fondly remember Mark’s talent and dedication to the industry,” said the actor’s heiress.

Mark Withers began appearing on world screens in the 1970s. At first, projects with the star were not very popular, but his breakthrough in the industry took place in 1981. Back then, the actor took on the role of Ted Dynard in the soap opera Dynasty. After that, the American began to be invited to other projects, including The Hazzard Follies, Remington Steele, The Garde Couple, and many others. Although Withers played minor characters, his acting skills caught on with the audience. In 1987, he appeared in the television drama Days of Our Lives, after which he disappeared from the screen for a long time.

In 2001, Mark Withers’ career resumed, and he was invited to join the creation of the sitcom Frasier, and later the film Criminal Minds: Think Like a Criminal. One of the actor’s latest and most high-profile projects was the sci-fi series Stranger Things. In the first season of the series, he played the role of coroner Harry, who conducted body examinations.
